Founded with the vision of uniting passionate minds under one royal banner, the Royalist Chess Association is more than just a chess club — it is a community of thinkers, competitors, and lifelong learners.

Our journey began at Wayamba Royal College, when a group of determined players saw the need for a platform that could nurture talent, promote sportsmanship, and bring the royal game to life in our schools and communities. Over time, our association has grown to include players from schools across the region, creating a network of friendship, respect, and competitive spirit.

To inspire and develop chess enthusiasts of all ages, providing opportunities to learn, compete, and excel while upholding the values of respect, discipline, and fair play.

To be recognized as a leading force in Sri Lanka’s chess community, producing players who excel both on and off the board.

What We Do

Organize tournaments and friendly matches between schools.

Conduct training sessions and workshops for all skill levels.

Promote chess in schools as a tool for academic and personal growth.

Represent our members in regional and national events.
